Aréole, officially the Kingdom of Aréole, is an Absolute Monarchy in western Meridia. As a state, it is comprised of various fiefdoms; it has been ruled by the House of Lébad for over a millennium through the Crown of Aréole.
Aréole has existed for over a thousand years in some way or another, however some scholars debate whether it should be considered one continuous entity or not.
History
Early History
Small groups of Proto-Applian have always lived in the western region of contemporary Aréole, the one that would later come to create the Kingdom of Aréole were the Are people, which from the 1st century BD until around the years 2-5 AD existed as a part of the Hannish Confederation.
