The 2nd Farun Senate, met from June 3, 2024 to June 8, 2024, in the Urbis Capitol Building, following the election of the southern senators prior. The Supreme Court apportioned two additional seats to the senate, making district 3 now district 5, district 5 now district 6, district 6 now district 7, with district 3 and 4 being new. No party reached a majority in this senate, but with Whig Party confidence and supply, the Liberal-Conservative Party remained in power.

Major Legislation

  • The Electoral Reform Amendment, an amendment that fundamentally changed the way elections work, changing the stagger to a two stage rather than a three stage stagger, and making presidential elections work via a two round system.
  • The Administrative Aid Act, a law that gave state official salaries.
  • The parliamentary procedure law, colloquially known as the house rules, a law that formalized the internal procedures of the senate and gave important powers powers to the speaker.

Members

Key:   New Farun Labor,   Farun Labor Front,   Whig Party,   Liberal-Conservative Party

The 2nd Senate was elected under the old three stage stagger system, and thus most senators carried over from the previous senate, with Zeek Quintus, the senator from district 1 being re-elected near unanimously, and Maon Vukusti replacing the late Nikola Vulovic.

The 2nd Farun Senate

Senators were elected in three staggered circuits for terms of six weeks, meaning that southern senators were supposed to serve up until the 5th Senate, the central senators up until the 3rd senate and the northern senators up until the 4th senate, however the three stage stagger was replaced by a two stage stagger during this term, and the three stage stagger was fully abolished by the 4th Senate as provisioned by the 2nd amendment.
