Maria Hernández, better known as Captain Redbanner or Maria El Rojo, was a Pastichian Pirate who operated primarily in the Anguille islands.
History and Biography
Early Life
Daughter of a Pastichian immigrant who fled to Aréole following the Pastiche War. Destitute from the conflict, they smuggled themselves onto an Aréolan colonial vessel, seeking to find opportunity and peace in the new world. After their discovery, they were forced into exile, forcing them to turn to crime to survive. While her father, Luis Hernández, was a notable pirate, he was far outshined by his daughter, who has gone down in history as one of the most infamous pirates in all of history.
Life as a Pirate
Following her father's death, she stole the Aréolan trading vessel La Cayenne, renamed it The Scourge o' the Royals, and, alongside her crew, harassed and pillaged the extremely lucrative trade routes that ran right through the Anguillan Archipelago.
