Under McHale

With von Luttwitz dead at the hands of the Cossacks, the recently rechristened United Party would be inherited by McHale in the midst of Presidential Election season. The very same day McHale assumed leadership, a Presidential debate was held between him and Liberal-Conservative candidate Aleksandr Novak. McHale came off as unprepared, owing to a lack of prior knowledge to the questions being asked and an unfamiliarity with government actions. The debate would be cut short, as LCP Senator Nikola Vulovic would be assassinated by Wilhelm von Aknevo on behalf of the Grey Panther Party militia. Despite the shock of the event, and despite the obvious connections between McHale, Providence, and the Panthers, McHale would unexpectedly win the June Presidential election by a wide margin, carrying 58.3% of the popular vote against Novak's 36.1%.

Under his leadership, the party has shifted firmly to the center-left of Faru politics, being more moderate than the newly reborn Farun Labor movement while being more progressive than the Liberal Conservative Party. His main campaign points included expanding social programs for the poor, continuing work on Farun High Speed Rail (HSR), and putting Cossack war criminals behind bars.
