Its capital and second largest city is Blojevo, other population centers include its largest city Illergrade, Skavburg and Markusgrade.
Background
The nation of Bloatia is named after the Bloat tribe which was one of many tribes north of the white which competed for domination. These tribes would form a confederation known as the confederation of Bracia which would would be conquered from the south by Markus the Great.
Duchy of Bloatia
After the collapse of the Faric Empire, the Bloat tribe would engage in a series of conquests called the Bloatian Wars. Boziji the Terrible would wage the Faro-Bloatian Wars in 1123 ending in Bloatian Victory. It would later conquer= modern day Mulgaria. During the Boziji wars, Boziji would make use of "Bloatian Fire", a chemical whose recipe was lost due to time. Any rebelling town, city, or region would be burned to the ground. The invading Mulgar army would invade settling in modern day Mulgaria and the First Mulgar Empire was declared. During the Mulgar Wars, Bloat troops would use a tactic known as scorched Earth tactic to slow down the advancing army. In the final Mulgar War, Mulgar Empire and the Grand Duchy of Bloatia would sign the treaty of Illergrade in 1350, which would form the modern border between Bloatia and Mulgaria.
During this time, Bloatian would become a lingua franca in the Duchhy replacing many languages such as the Gilgeric language of old Faric. Trade would become the main priority of the state, and would seek peaceful trade relations with the other Meridian States. Blojevo, Illergrade and Markusgrade would grow to become a significant trade hubs in Merida where most trade going from the western regions to the eastern regions on land would travel through.
Beginning in the 1683, Bloatia would fight a series of wars called the Deluge where Swopian and Bloatian troops would launch a suprise attack with 65% of Glormoria being occupied by Glormoria and Swopia. In 1690 Bloatia and Glomoria would ceding western territories to Bloatia. Bloatia and Glormoria would launch a counter attacked called the 1692 war which would last until 1700 and result in a Glormorian victory. During the 1702 winter war, Bloatia would declare neutrality.
After the formation of the Slorbo Glormorian Empire, the two states would fight a series of wars resulting in the annexation of lost Glormorian Territories and the annexation of Bloatia.
During the occupation period Bloatia would become less important as Slorbia and the Holy Gilgerian Empire became important trade routes. During the 1800s and 1900s Bloatia would gain greater autonomy under the Trimarchy to appease nationalists. During the Great War, the Bloatian National Liberation Army would launch an indepedence war against the Empire. During this time, BNLA would do several genocides against minority groups including but limited to Blovaks, Bohen, Chevans, and Shilgars. They would fight and lose against the Farun Republican Army and Nepublians.
The Bloatian National Liberation Army would be defeated in 1921 by United Bloatian Army. United Bloatia would become the dominant political party of Bloatia being slightly more progressive than the BNLA.
Governance
The Federation of Bloatia and Autonomous Republics is a federal semi presidential republic composed of 12 oblasts, 4 autonomous republics and 3 autonomous cities. The president of the nation is the head of state and has a 2 year term. Along with the president parliment is elected through a first past the post system. The prime minister is proposed by the governing coalition and is approved by the president. The president is the supreme executive and can fire and hire any minister at will. The president can also choose judges.
The 12 oblasts are governed with limited autonomy and typically speak Bloatian. The 4 autonomous republics are the East Chevan Republic, the Bolga Gilgerian Republic, the Blovak Republic and the Shilgar Republic. Each republic is minority majority and has an official language other than Bloatian. Each has significant autonomy and a standing army indepedent of the Bloatian National Army. The three Autonomous Cities are Illergrade, Skavburg and Markusgrade. These cities have a similar government to the republics despite all but Skavburg being majority Bloatian.
Economy
Bloatia has a majority agrarian economy with industrial centers in Skavburg, Markusgrade and Illergrade. Illergrade is a significant trading port on the white sea and is where most of its exports and imports would go through. It has gone through a massive population boom in the 1920s and is the economic capital of Bloatia.
Most of its exports are crops. This grain has allowed for Gilgerias and Slorbias rapid re-industrialization which have allowed these nations to become less reliant on its own grain. It is alleged that Bloatia is selling crops to Gilgeria for massive amounts of weapons to militarize its Nepublian border.
