The Eastern Regional Assembly is the sole legislative body of the Eastern Region.
The Regional Assembly is a democratically elected body whose members are known as Regional Assembly Members (or RAMs). There are currently five RAMs who are elected for terms of eight weeks via a [block voting] system in a single at large constituency.
The Regional Assembly and its powers are established by title three article one of the Eastern Constitution, it is in charge of legislating within the bounds of the Eastern Region.
