The Y'Iran'e conflict, otherwise known as the Y'Iran'e Rebellion and the War in Y'Iran'e, was a separatist conflict that occurred on the 1st August 2023. It was fought between the Interim Administration of Infaru with the Infarun Armed Forces against the Imamate of Y'Iran'e.
Background
The Imamate of Y'Iran'e was declared independent on the 30th July 2023, by Iqra Al Ismaili, the former mayor of the sole town in the region, (TOWN NAME HERE, ADD DETAILS). The claim was immediately met with skepticism by most parties. Following the declaration of Y'Iran'e's borders, claiming all the way just north of Pumpkin Valley for their maritime borders, widespread backlash ensued among most Infaruns, excluding the town of Elysium, which held neutrality in accordance with Elysianism.
Ceasefire
Following a few minor skirmishes from paramilitary fighters, a ceasefire was declared on the 31st July 2023, to be held until the 2nd August 2023. The ceasefire was controversial among several militarists who wanted war, and was condemned by glass magnate Vuluus for restrictive borders preventing the excavation of sand in the area. During the ceasefire, Fort St. Gourd was constructed south of the ceasefire line.
Breaking of the ceasefire, and the war proper
The ceasefire was prematurely broken by the Y'Iran'e-affiliated terrorist AshleyHere, after she attempted to destroy the Bridge of St. Gourd, and afterwards attempted to bomb Infarun soldiers following her capture. A fortification was constructed at the ceasefire line, and a smaller one north of it was constructed by Y'Iran'e.
Battle of Y'Iran'e
The Battle of Y'Iran'e was the main battle of the Y'Iran'e conflict. South of Y'Iran'e, the battle began with Y'Iran'e's soldiers dumping lava onto patrolling Infarun soldiers. Y'Iran'e's soldiers grouped onto Jenny Dxxth and chased them into the water, but they striked back by using a Strength II potion and killing KingOfBel, being the first person to use a Strength II potion in combat. Y'Iran'e's soldiers fled soon after, following the death of Iqra Al Ismaili. The Battle of Y'Iran'e ended with a decisive Infarun victory, and the town proper was searched.
Pursuit of Y'Iran'eian rebels
A group of soldiers, led by later 2nd August Putsch member Thinqq, pursued the remaining rebels out of Infaru. Controversially, the soldiers went into areas outside of their jurisdiction to put down rebels, a detail later used in the Tribunal. PAGE WIP
