History
During the dynamic political events and discussions of the August Crisis, members of the South East Infaru Company, most notably subc0mandante and De_Remuva, came together with the interest of forming a new political to promote the goal of "nothing ideological but oriented towards development and construction". The original draft name of the party was the Polytechnical Directed Development Coalition. The name was changed to match more old century "FDR" aesthetics. The political party was announced on the 10th of August. The NDU published its official political program on the 28th of August following its adoption by the First NDU Continental Convention. The party ran De_Remuva as candidate in both the South Eastern deputy seat election and prime ministerial election, losing the prime minister-ship but winning the South Eastern electoral seat.
Ideology
The New Directed Union is a left wing party that can be most aptly described as futurist, they aim to destroy what they believe are reactionary and backwards elements of society such as religious, military and landowner classes (the latter which they call yeomen). They also believe in technocratic governance, and have tried to push for sortition in the government, having it implemented in the First Constitution and failing to implement it fully in the Second Constitution. Otherwise they adhere to more moderate developmentalist positions, such as promoting infrastructure, immigration and distribution of ressources to the citizenry in order to boost construction.
