Faruan & Farun
Faruan & Farun are the two different spellings of the demonym used for citizens of Faru. Some people are fanatical about "which is correct".
History
Early Faru
During the early days of the server, Farun and Faruan were used interchangeably, with prominent community members using both Farun and Faruan[1], and official staff messages using Faruan[2]. Many major groups, such as the "Faruan Army" and the "Faruan Model Army" also used the Faruan spelling.
Believed North vs. South Split
Soon after the server launch, players started noticing the different spellings, and were devising in lore reasons for there being a difference, it being decided that Faruan was a north-ism and Farun a south-ism.[3] The split seemingly never was real, with people still seemingly using both terms at random, or with personal preference.
Decline of Faruan and rise of Farun
The use of "Faruan" seemingly declined after the month of May, between April 7, 2024 and June 1, 2024, Farun was used 583 times[4], while Faruan was used 411 times[5]. In the same amount of time after (June 1, 2024 to July 26, 2024), Farun was used 711 times[6]. , while Faruan was only used 56 times[7].
The source of this phenomenon is completely unknown, with no clear reason for why it happened.
