The Carpesian Archipelago has been occupied and ruled by various entities over the centuries, first being ruled by various empires and Yeliccian conquerors, then as a part of the Crown of Pastiche, later as a monastic order and finally as an independent principality.

Crown of Pastiche and the County of Carpesia

In 1255, the Crown of Pastiche conquered the Archipelago, and it was under direct Royal rule until 1332, when it was turned into the County of Carpesia by King Gracchio III.

Monastic State of the Solar Order of Saint Mathis of Neploni

In 1501 a monastic state was established in the islands by the Crown of Aréole. It was led by Archons, which was not a title of nobility, but rather had a gubernatorial nature.

Principality of Carpesia

After the Aréolian-Pastichian war of 1622-1634, an independent Carpesian Principality was established with the Emperor of Slorbia's nephew being put on the throne. This polity remains in place to this day.
