The Conservative Party was a short lived right wing party mostly composed of former members of fringe monarchist groups. It only existed during the May 2024 Senate Elections and later merged with the Liberal Caucus into the Liberal-Conservative Party.
History
Background
During the constitutional convention, a fringe group of monarchists existed. Accepting the narrow appeal of monarchism, the group rebranded as the "Conservative Party", hoping to be able to muster more support.
Electoral success and demise
During the May 2024 Senate Elections, the conservatives were able to field a single candidate, Nikola Vulovic, who subsequently won the urbis election. Thanks to this surprise victory, the Conservatives were able to be put on the map, and entered talks with the Liberal Caucus for a merger. These talks resulted in the creation of the Liberal-Conservative Party, which ended the party's short history, but lives on to this day.
Legacy
While the Conservative Party was short lived, the conservative movement was not. Following the merger with the Liberal-Conservative Party, conservatism found newfound mainstream appeal, and many people who previously labeled themselves as liberals because of the radical origins of the Conservative Party started identifying as conservatives and promoted the ideology within the party and wider Farun society.
