The June 2024 Presidential Election is being held from June 1st to June 2nd, 2024, to elect the President of Faru. It's being held on the same days as the June 2024 Senate Elections.
The election is currently being held and as such no results have been reported. The three candidates are the Liberal Aleksandr Novak, the populist John McHale and the Independent Lunayleria Échennes.

Background
The founder of the United Party, Ashton von Lüttwitz, was originally the party's candidate. However, he died a little more than 20 hours before the election in a debt-related skirmish at Fort Sack. As such, John McHale, who had just recently been slated as von Luttwitz's successor in the event of such an occurrence, replaced him as the United candidate.
Presidential Debate on May 31
On May 31, a debate between the leading two candidates, McHale and Novak, occured at the capitol building in Urbis. The debate started civilly enough, although neither candidate was fully prepared owing to the rapid change in circumstances. However, the debate was cut short when Wilhelm Nott von Aknevo, who McHale had just floated as a potential candidate for Minister of Defense, assassinated Senator Nikola Vulovic while the debate was ongoing. Wilhelm would be killed shortly afterwards. As a result of this, the debate was cancelled, and von Aknevos organization, the Grey Panthers, was promptly dissolved and discredited. All eyes turned to McHale, who's ties to Wilhelm and the Panthers made him a prime suspect for who ordered the hit. McHale vehemently denied this, although he did go on to condemn Vulovics legacy in a radio address the following day. He also took the opportunity to cast doubt on Novaks integrity and bring up the racist history of the LCP.
