Urbis City is the capital and one of the oldest cities in the Republic of Faru. It's situated inland, on an island in the middle of an oxbow lake formed from the river Flumen. As the capital it is the country's most significant centre for politics, finance and culture, alongside being the seat of Capital Metro Area, a metropolitan region made up of Urbis City, Providence, Kickassia and Liberty City.
Mayor
The Mayor of Urbis City is one of the most prestigious posts that exist outside the Central Government, with many high profile Faruns taking up the post.
The Mayor in the past was a figure of unilateral power, often dictating laws, regulations and keeping office for as long as they seemed fit. However the latest and current mayor of the city, Kino Volchok, has been reforming the post, promising to establish as charter that would clearly outline the powers of the mayor.

Urban Assembly
The Urban Assembly is the sole legislative body of the city, it usually meets on Forum Hill. Currently, it has very few rules surrounding it but it has been tradition that the Mayor call and preside over it. It usually makes decisions via a standing vote, with only a simple majority being required for passing any sort of motion.
