The Urbis City Militia was a militia formed during the Cossack War to defend Urbis City against nomadic raiders.
History
Background
On April 13, 2024, Cossacks started raiding several cities all over Faru. Urbis City was under immediate threat of such an attack, and thus the Mayor of the city, Chaton Loupius, immediately conscripted several bystanders into a militia to ward off the attack. With the support of the Faruan Army, this first encounter was successful and the militia stayed around to defend the city.

Before the formation of the Faruan Model Army, the militia engaged in several skirmishes with the Cossacks, sometimes even tracking the horsemen to the far northern reaches of the country, it however rarely won any encounters as the force was disorganized and often equipped with nothing more than iron armor. After a few days of fighting the Cossacks, many militiamen felt demotivated by the lack of support from outside forces and laid down their arms or even moved away from Urbis.
Integration into the Model Army and Fate
After the rise of the Faruan Model Army, the militia was integrated into the wider military apparatus, and its model was exported to other cities in order to help support the war effort. The militia kept de jure existing for years and slowly fizzled out, fighting in some battles such as the battle of the bridge and the Urbis Massacre.
