De Remuva was born in 1643 to Roy Rafaël Roméo Robin-Ron de Remuva, Marquis de Remuva, a royal capitan of the infantry, and Roanna-Rosabella Rosie Rina Rhé de La Roche, at the Château de Rêves, in Remuva, in the County of Rochefort. De Remvua's great grandfather, Redouane Robert Richard Ruddy Réo de Remuva, reportedly fought bravely in the triumphant Battle of the Seven Women Generals during the War of Eight Women Generals that the fief Remuva was raised to a marquisate by Letters Patent in 1562.

De Remuva rose quickly through the royal military and civil service, in part owing to their father's patronage but also due to their own innate ability. At the age of 23, De Remuva transferred to the Royal Aréolean Navy where they learned to navigate, draw, make nautical charts, and write practical reports. After three years of service, de Remuva had developed an interest in commercial and maritime enterprises. During the start of their independent merchant journeys, de Remuva met and married R. R. R. Risoue de Rutbert, Dame de Rutbert, having twins in 1669. By 1669 they now owned 3 vessels and were regularly engaged in trading and fishing all over the western coast of Meridia. Through connections with fishermen, de Remuva had learned of a rumoured archipelago that laid far beyond the western ocean. In 1670, they organized an expedition to reach the rumoured archipelago.

First Expedition

Main article De Remuva-Ortiz Expedition

It was in early 1670 that the Marquis de Remuva heard about the new world as rumours from fishermen. With earlier expeditions and (failed) colonies existing as models, de Remuva sought to undertake their own expedition. By Prairial of the year, de Remuva had informed the Count of Rochefort of their interest in leading an expedition and establishing a new colony. The Count approved of the idea and granted funding for de Remuva's expedition. The voyage would be travelled by 3 ships. In need of a competent second-hand man, de Remuva contacted a lifelong friend Aguirre Ortiz who knew each other from their days in the Royal Navy. Ortiz by this point was well known as a skilled and professional navigator and voyageur popular among many nobles in Aréole. Ortiz shortly after receiving the proposal.

On the 27th of Plairial, the date to set sail, de Remuva was interrupted by a babbling and crying Renard-Félin Sanslapareille begging the Marquis to join them in their expedition. De Remuva conceded and allowed Sanslapareille to join the expedition. They set sail afterwards.

On the 15th of Pluviôse, they would discover and name Sickjoan Islands and New Rochefort territory. De Remuva's plan of a colony shifted after it became known that New Rocheland already had inhabitants. With a simple survey of the land, as well as to not want to leave without anything to show for it, de Remuva made the assessment that the island might work as a headquarters for an enterprise of trade and commerce. The creation of a fort was needed, and, seeing that they were outnumbered and poorly armed to conquer the island, brokered a relationship with the Headman of the village to allow the construction of a fort (named New Rochefort) on the island. During that time, de Remuva would develop a strong bond with the Headman. It on that same day that de Remuva and their crew would form the New Rochefort Company.

The fort constructed, and the economic activities that followed it, proved to be successful. For this, de Remuva wrote back to the Count of Rochefort and the King of Aréole over these successes and that the possibility of contracting the company for commerce, trade, and control of the territory. On the 22nd of Pluviôse, after the creation of the Viceroyalty of Anguille, de Remuva was able to receive official contract from the Viceroy, Smith Jefferson.
