Picito (Carpesian:Bicita) is an island in the Carpesian Archipelago west of Tarbor. It is the third largest island in the archipelago. There are currently no inhabited settlements in the island.
Etymology
The carpesian word for picito, Bicita, originaly came from a bastardization of the word piscina (meaning pool or pond in an native dialect), by early cajrabenik settlers of the island. It refers to the large bay formed in the eastern part of the island. The word was then further changed, with the arrival of the Areolans, to Picito.
History
Ancient
Ruins of an abandoned settlement in the southeast suggests this island was once inhabited. The underwater state of most of the settlement implies it was built at a time where sea levels were significantly lower, possibly being the oldest settlement in the Carpesian Archipelago.
Geography
The island is mostly covered by flat plains with a large hill in the southeast. It is sparsely populated by plains fauna and mostly covered in grassland with sparse trees.
